How Generic Proscar (Fincar) Works
Fincar is the generic form Proscar (5mg Finasteride). Generic Proscar works inhibiting the action of the 5 Alpha Reductase Type 2 enzyme that is known to convert testosterone to dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Research into DHT has found that it restricts the blood flow to the hair follicle, thereby reducing the growing phase of the hair. Fincar is also used to treat an enlarged prostate gland in men, otherwise known as benign prostate hyperplasia.

Generic Proscar Dosage
You are advised to follow your doctor's instructions carefully when taking this medication. The usual prescribed dose for adults is 1 tablet daily.

Side Effects of Fincar (Generic Proscar)
The reported side effects for medications containing Finasteride include decreased sexual desire and / or performance. These side affects have also be known to be less prevailing as the course of treatment continues and in some cases the side effects have been known to disappear altogether. Once the course of treatment has been completed sexual desire and performance is expected to return to normal.
